Garden & Lobby Improvements
Apart from a great show, what do audiences need? A gracious
lobby with the necessary amenities. Solvang Theaterfest patrons have a
right to expect a modern and comfortable facility during intermission
... without long lines.
The present service buildings, added over time as needs
have increased, are no longer adequate or aesthetically pleasing.
A major goal of the capital campaign is to unify the
lobby and garden areas with a new design to allow an easy traffic flow
and pleasant experience for theater goers before, during and after performances.
RESTROOMS
To meet the needs of a 700-seat theater, Solvang Theaterfest is committed
to demolishing the present small and spartan restrooms, replacing them
with bright new upgraded facilities.
GARDEN
New paving, plantings and lighting will encourage a circular flow of theatergoers
around the courtyard’s large oaks. Spaces for quiet conversation
and for large gatherings will be included.
CONCESSIONS
The concessions building will be moved to a more protected area with its
own patio and lighting. It will be joined with a much needed storage building
designed to keep supplies and food preparation out of sight.
