WAYS TO GIVE

Cash - Outright or Pledge
Many of the donations given to Solvang Theaterfest are cash gifts. It’s the easiest gift for a donor to make and for the organization to receive. A pledge may be paid over five years—on any schedule you choose. If you itemize your deductions, you may be entitled to an income tax deduction for all contributions in a given year of up to fifty percent of your adjusted gross income with a five-year carry-over period for the excess.

Credit Card
An increasing number of donors are interested in funding their gift through their credit card,
in many instances so they can take advantage of mileage points or premiums. Using Visa or MasterCard, your gift can be arranged as an automatic debit.

Stocks and Bonds
You might consider making your gift in bonds or stocks, including mutual funds. You can save on capital gains tax and you may be eligible to receive a charitable income tax deduction for their full market value. You can take the income tax deduction up to thirty percent of your adjusted gross income and still carry forward any excess up to five years.

Real Estate
Most real estate has appreciated faster than the rate of inflation and therefore has excellent potential as a charitable gift. Solvang Theaterfest can accept a gift of a home, vacation property, condominium, apartment complex, undeveloped land or other real estate in support of the capital campaign.

Tangible Personal Property
Gifts of assets such as cars, jewelry, boats, etc. are also welcome. The donor may receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the gift, (depending on its use.)

Paid Life Insurance

If you own a life insurance policy that is no longer needed for its original purpose, it can be donated to Solvang Theaterfest, which then becomes the owner of the policy. In general, the donor will be entitled to an income tax deduction for the cash surrender value of the policy and can deduct this amount from future premiums paid to Solvang Theaterfest.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Your financial commitment ensures that Solvang Theaterfest continues as a welcoming venue for the performing arts in the Santa Ynez Valley far into the future. We invite you to help us create A Stage for All Reasons.

Place of Honor
To commemorate the vision and generosity of its supporters, the board of directors and the campaign leadership wish to create a public and enduring record of those who selflessly invested in this much needed renovation. A distinctive Place of Honor, permanently celebrating those whose interest and support have made this renovation possible, will be placed in the theater lobby. The Place of Honor will be inscribed with the donor’s name, or in tribute, as specified by the donor. Gifts of $1,000 and above will be recognized.

Commemorative Naming Opportunities
In addition to the Place of Honor, the following commemorative naming opportunities are available.
